“Umbrella Street” is the first single from the FINAL BOSS album and a great representation of my signature style of playing without going too heavy on drums or emotional intensity, since it serves as the opening track of the album.
This song is all about fun detunings, grooves and sunny vibes! Most of the piece is built around the use of Keith Banjo Detuners on the first, second, and sixth strings. On top of that, I also use Timara String Drops on the first and second strings.
To recreate the song exactly as I do, you would need this full setup. At the same time, there are no Schlagwerk drum add-ons involved here, so aside from the detuning systems, the piece works well on a standard guitar setup.
The tune includes a wide range of textures, with lots of harmonics, fingerpicking, guitar drumming, and tapping, which makes it especially exciting to learn and play.
It is not an easy one to play, but it is definitely one of the most fun and one of the catchiest songs I’ve ever written.
Using effects such as reverb, delay, and other guitar pedals can help bring out the more epic side of the tune, but it is also one of those songs that works beautifully in a fully acoustic setting.
Even if you do not have those detuning systems, you can still adapt all the riffs for a normal guitar using the fretboard or artificial harmonics.
All detuning changes, drumming, strumming, fingerpicking, and other performance details are explained thoroughly throughout the tablature with detailed text notes.
This is one of the most detailed tabs I’ve ever created. The tablature is provided in Guitar Pro 7 and PDF formats, and the package also includes the album version of the track in WAV format.
